Projects of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free State of Thuringia, represented by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, Department of Culture and the Arts.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar supports student exchange between Thuringian and Asian schools with project workshops on Weimar Classicism in Weimar. These are organised in cooperation with the programme East Speaks West, West Speaks East (ESWWSE / supervised by Edith Flores Wolff Steinenbrück) and supported by the Thuringian Institute for Teacher Training, Curricular Development and Media (ThILLM).
The first student encounter took place in May 2013 with 16 participants from the Apeejay School in New Delhi and pupils from the Friedrich Schiller Gymnasium in Weimar. In the 2014/2015 academic year, student exchanges were organised between the Delhi International Public School and St. Mark's Senior High School (Delhi) with the Klosterschule Roßleben and the Salzmannschule Schnepfenthal, respectively. In 2017 an exchange took place between the Christian Ernst Gymnasium in Erlangen and St. Mark’s Senior High School, and in 2018, between the Theodor Heuss Gymnasium in Göttingen and General Raj's School in Neu Delhi.
