Projects of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free State of Thuringia, represented by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, Department of Culture and the Arts.
The Weimar summer campus is a two-week intercultural summer school for (young) adults from around the world. Against the backdrop of Weimar’s cultural heritage and that of the surrounding region, the programme explores current political and cultural issues of wider significance.
The 2018 summer campus addressed the challenges of translating cultural characteristics and examined ways of making cultural differences the subject of mutual learning processes. The campus was open to people of all ages and in professions that deal with this topic, particularly in the fields of history and cultural, literary and translation studies. The Wieland Estate in Ossmannstedt provided accommodation and conference rooms for the campus participants.
A joint project by the Weimar-Jena Academy (organiser) and Thuringian Protestant Adult Education Centre.
