Cicerone Studium Generale

Do you have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge? Are you interested in exploring cultural-historical topics in more depth through academic study and research? Then we have the right programme for you!

The summer academy “Cicerone Studium Generale” will take place again this year from 28 July – 11 August 2019. Upper secondary school pupils who are interested in literature and history are cordially invited to participate. The programme will explore the period of Weimar Classicism and its repercussions in the 20th century (Bauhaus, Nazi era). The discussions will also tie into German cultural history in general. The primary focus of the programme is project-oriented work and the exchange with student peers from all parts of Germany.

  • Participation fee: 100 euros; overnight accommodation/meals, seminars, excursions and admission fees are included in this price. There is an additional 40-euro surcharge for travel expenses to and from local sites and lunches on excursion days. Participants are responsible for organising and financing their arrival and departure to Ossmannstedt.
  • Accommodation: Education Centre at the Wieland Estate in Ossmannstedt
  • Application: please submit a one-page letter of motivation by email to: cicerone@weimar-jena-akademie.de. The application deadline is 15 May 2019.
