From the Classical period to the present, you can engage in practice-oriented, interdisciplinary collaboration with experts from the Klassik Stiftung Weimar.

In consultation with universities and universities of applied sciences, we gladly arrange individual programmes for one-day excursions or several-day study trips for students. Our programmes offer participants the chance to learn about and discuss our didactic activities and methods. The teaching- and learning-oriented encounter with Weimar offers students behind-the-scenes impressions and an unforgettable educational experience.

Teaching degree students, teachers in training

We invite teaching degree students and teachers in training to try out our museum-pedagogical approaches and methods and discuss them with us in praxis-oriented workshops. The programme highlights the pedagogical potential of Weimar’s cultural history and its significance as an extracurricular place of learning for the participants’ future career.

Students of German as a Foreign Language (DaF)

For those studying German as a Foreign Language (DaF), Weimar offers numerous opportunities to experience cultural-historical aspects at original locations and combine them, for example, with regional studies seminars. The focus is on intercultural exchange and references to contemporary issues. Together with (prospective) DaF instructors, we explore various ways to teach culture and language in Weimar. In this context, participants can try out the materials which we have developed for Learning German in the Museum.

Visiting students

We offer visiting students at German universities the chance to participate in individually arranged one- or several-day programmes to become acquainted with our internationally renowned city of the Classical era.

Overnight accommodation

In addition to cultural seminars and conference rooms, the Education Centre at the Wieland Estate in Ossmannstedt offers overnight accommodation to visitors.

The Wieland Estate is home to the Wieland Edition research group which is currently producing a historical-critical “Ossmannstedt Edition” of Wieland's complete works. During your stay in Ossmannstedt, you will have the chance to visit the researchers’ workshops and speak with the Wieland experts in person.
