International and intercultural issues played a significant role around the turn of the 19th century and at the time of the State Bauhaus. European Enlightenment, tolerance and involvement with foreign cultures are just as relevant today as they were back then. Based on such historic aspects, we wish to continue this dialogue in our courses with a view to contemporary issues.
Our educational activities are targeted at international schools in Germany and (bilingual) schools abroad. Periodically two German schools join our programme Weimarpedia together with their partner schools in France in order to discover Weimar and its cultural history together.
Also the project Snapshot is undertaken for many years with fixed partner schools from Belgium, Germany and Italy.
Are you interested in learning why Goethe is read in your country or where the world-famous Bauhaus was founded? Then Weimar is the place to go! In our European seminar for example offered every two years, you have the chance to engage in international and intercultural exchange with other young people from around the world.
Intercultural dialogue and international experience have long played an integral role in university study and student life. We at the Klassik Stiftung Weimar offer instructors and students from foreign universities customised programmes with various excursions, tours, workshops and seminars. We also offer individualised, one-day or several-day programmes to international students and instructors at German universities. The programmes always emphasise intercultural exchange and make reference to the present day.
