Lending and Use

Our collections have been electronically indexed. Books can be ordered, reserved or prolonged via our online catalogue.

    Orders from the magazine collections are processed within approx. 30-90 minutes from Monday to Friday before 4.30 pm., Literature on loan can be reserved in advance.

    Copies and scans

    You can make photocopies of the collections in the reading areas and the magazines dated back to year 1950 at the photocopy machines; the microfiches can be copied at the Readerprinter.

    The Library will prepare scans or paper copies of works printed before 1950 and works in critical condition on request and for a fee as per the fee scale.

    Inter-library loans | direct delivery service

    Inter-library loans can be arranged for literature which is not available in our library. This service costs 1.50 euro per item within Germany. Use the opportunity to order inter-library loans yourself online.

    The direct delivery service subito, available with a fee, enables you to order documents against payment of the expenses and have them sent online directly to the requested address.

    WiFi Access

    Encrypted WiFi access is available to all users of our library. This service allows you to access the Internet via your personal WiFi-equipped devices.

    Library-specific applications such as CD ROM materials or licensed online databases can only be accessed via the computer terminals located inside the library.

    Each user is responsible for his/her WiFi usage on their moblie devices. The library staff cannot provide technical support.
