Projects of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free State of Thuringia, represented by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, Department of Culture and the Arts.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar is the second largest cultural foundation in Germany. Every day our staff works tirelessly to preserve, study and present Weimar’s rich cultural heritage. Private individuals, foundations and companies provide ongoing support so that we can carry out our extraordinary research and restoration projects, create outstanding exhibitions and offer a diverse educational programme.

A diverse array of projects at the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are supported by numerous patrons and sponsors.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar is a member of numerous associations such as the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the German Museum Association, the Conference of National Cultural Institutions (KNK) and the Federal Association of German Foundations.
More than 1,000 friends have discovered their passion for Weimar. They participate in seven associations devoted to supporting the activities of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. These support associations (Freundeskreise) offer members the chance to participate and contribute to preserving Weimar’s cultural heritage for future generations.
