Projects of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free State of Thuringia, represented by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, Department of Culture and the Arts.
The German Research Foundation is the self-governing body for science in Germany. It serves all branches of science. The DFG is a private association. Its members are colleges which focus intensively on research, extramural research institutions, scientific associations and academies of science.
The DFG is largely financed by the federal and state governments, which are represented on all approval committees. The weighting of votes and codes of procedure ensure that rulings are made in the interests of the sciences.
