Panel exhibition featuring selected projects
The exhibition presents an overview of the international activities of the volunteers at the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in European and non-European countries. Since 2008 international participants have been volunteering their time to preserve, cultivate and restore World Heritage Sites in all five UNESCO regions – Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Arab states.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar has collaborated with the European Heritage Volunteers for many years. In the Belvedere Castle Park they restored several sections of historic paths and have supported the Foundation’s gardeners with tending the parks and greens maintained by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. The practical tasks are an important component of the project and are supplemented by educational programmes and the possibility to become acquainted with foreign cultures.
