Annual report 2024 "Auf/Bruch"

With the theme year Auf/Bruch, the Klassik Stiftung Weimar offered visitors in 2024 the opportunity to engage with the past and look to the future at the same time. References were made to the focal points "Bauhaus and National Socialism", the "Collections in Transition" and "Romanticism in Weimar". In the twentieth century, cultural awakening and catastrophe, failure and new beginnings are particularly close together. in 2024, the connection between culture and politics in Weimar in the age of extremes was explored and, in addition to the historical turning points of 1924 and 1949, the struggle for the Bauhaus in particular was highlighted.

The exhibitions, projects and experiments presented as part of the theme year symbolise the upheaval in a variety of ways. The annual report provides an exemplary insight into key cross-foundation projects and processes in the 2024 reporting year and is designed as an impact report based on the Social Reporting Standard (SRS).

With the release of its Annual Report 2021, the Klassik Stiftung Weimar wishes to inform the public about its accomplishments and development as a publicly funded cultural institution. As a mediator of social coexistence and transformation, the Foundation sees its task as one that critically examines cultural heritage, engages in political discourse, and explores new programmatic areas. With the Annual Report 2021, the Foundation reflects on the impact of these contemporary issues – consistently presented from a visitor’s perspective by means of illustrative statistics and retrospective reports on the "New Nature" Theme Year.

Projects of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free State of Thuringia, represented by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, Department of Culture and the Arts.
