Completed projects

The Office of Provenance Research and its successor institution, the German Lost Art Foundation, financed four projects at the Klassik Stiftung Weimar between 2009 and 2016:

  • 2013–2016: "Provenances, contexts of acquisition, search for legatees – Research on suspected cases of Nazi-confiscated cultural property in the collections of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar"
  • 2010–2013: "Nazi-confiscated cultural property as a result of persecution in the collection holdings of the KSW"
  • 2009–2010: "Nazi-confiscated libraries of political and cultural associations" at the Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek
  • 2009: "Acquisitions from the Nathansohn collection by the predecessor institution of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar"

Until 2010, provenance research on Nazi-confiscated cultural property in the collections of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar focused on specific aspects or smaller sections of the holdings.

Projects of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free State of Thuringia, represented by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, Department of Culture and the Arts.
