Cross-divisional Directorate Digital Transformation/Innovation Management

Nowadays digitality and digitalisation have an outsized impact on all areas of social life. For a cultural, commemorative and research-based organisation like the Klassik Stiftung Weimar, this poses fundamental challenges. For one, knowledge is produced, gathered and shared online more frequently and in greater volume than ever before. This applies to the research and cataloguing activities of the Foundation as it does to its responsibility to educate the public. With respect to its internal operations, digitality has resulted in shifting forms of employment and day-to-day communication. In other words, digitality has become a driving force behind a vast transformative process at the Klassik Stiftung Weimar.

The core task of the new directorate is to shape and advance this process of transformation. Because practical implementation of digital processes affects all areas and departments, the directorate will function as a driver of innovation and a structural organ for the entire foundation.

The Klassik Stiftung Weimar in the digital realm

One of the central goals in the coming years is to present the themes of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar in digital space more systematically and intensively, as well as increase its online presence with collections, knowledge and interactive programmes. Digital space will thus become a forum where cultural stakeholders and professionals can network, exchange knowledge, and engage in dialogue with the public. Based on a data network which allows users to locate and utilise data (collections, objects, metadata etc.), a digital forum will be created which will enable the foundation to accomplish its tasks online and in the digital realm.
