Usage and loan

Usage

Users of the museums of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar can access the following services:

  • Research information service
  • Electronic database of the collection items in all artistic areas
  • Books from the Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek (HAAB), located in the open-access holdings of the Goethe National Museum reference library

Individual search queries can be submitted in writing or in person to the staff at the Goethe National Museum during opening hours, or by prior written request outside of regular opening hours.

While only selected data is provided in the online catalogue on our website, the object information stored in the database corresponds to the current research status in the museums.

In the case of more complex queries, we will gladly put you in contact with the responsible collection curators.

If you have a substantiated academic interest in certain items and register in advance, we can allow you to examine selected parts of Goethe’s art collections in the study rooms of the Goethe National Museum.
