The Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek is an archive and research library for literary and cultural history with special emphasis on the period between 1750 and 1850.
Its special fields of activity include presenting and preserving collection items with the aid of innovative conservatorial processes and conducting research-based investigation of provenance and collection contexts.
The Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek continuously expands its collections by acquiring historical objects and modern research literature.
The library recognises the challenge of digital transformation with regard to its presentation activities. It continues to apply the latest technological standards to its research findings and integrate objects into publicly accessible digital collections. Cultural programmes and continuing education courses introduce non-professionals to the world of the library on location.
