Goals
The Staff Council is a democratically elected committee which represents the interests of those employed at the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. The Staff Council is involved whenever decisions are made which could impact the staff. It fields questions, concerns and complaints from employees and shares these with the employer. It also ensures that employee rights are respected and monitors compliance workplace protection regulations.
The Staff Council is comprised of nine members, all of whom are employees of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. The members are elected for a five-year term – most recently in 2022.
Tasks of the Staff Council
The Staff Council representatives are responsible for the following:
- request that measures be taken which serve the interests of the organisation or its staff,
- ensure that laws, regulations, collective agreements, service agreements and administrative directives which benefit the employees are carried out,
- field questions, concerns and complaints from employees, and if a specific complaint is deemed justified, arrange a meeting with the management to resolve the matter in question,
- promote the integration and professional development of severely disabled individuals and other members of staff in need of special protections, e.g. older employees,
- support the integration of international staff in their respective departments and promote understanding between them and the German employees,
- promote the implementation of equal opportunity of women and men as put forth in the Thuringian Equal Treatment Act,
- request that measures be taken which promote career advancement for severely disabled individuals and advocate for the adoption of inclusion agreements in accordance with § 166 of the Social Security Code IX,
- work closely together with the Youth and Trainee Representative to promote the interests of employees specified in § 57 ThürPersVG,
- monitor compliance with the data protection laws for all employees,
- help employees balance their responsibilities in professional and private life.
- The Staff Council can also exercise its right of initiative. To this end and in accordance with §§ 69-78 ThürPersVG, the Staff Council may submit a request to the organisation to take measures with respect to any personnel, social, organisational and other internal matters of business that apply to or impact all members, groups or individual staff of the organisation.
- The Staff Council and the management should work together for the benefit of the employees which is ensured within the context of trusting cooperation.
