The bauhaus museum weimar is the new highlight for culture and tourism in Weimar and Thuringia: with its modern museum concept, tangible exhibits, high-quality interior design and innovative mediation work, it has delighted 280,000 visitors since its opening on April 5, 2019. We look forward to the further development of the Quarter of Weimar Modernism.
The Free State of Thuringia and the Federal Republic of Germany financed the construction with a total of 22.6 million euros. This sum was sufficient for the building itself. However, additional funds were required for special projects: The Klassik Stiftung Weimar needed friends and supporters who were infected by our enthusiasm.
