Projects of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free State of Thuringia, represented by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, Department of Culture and the Arts.

The Klassik Stiftung Weimar has concluded agreements with several schools in order to systematically establish Weimar as a place of extracurricular learning in connection with certain topics taught at the schools.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar and the Christian-Ernst-Gymnasium in Erlangen organise various educational projects in order to develop and test new forms of collaboration between schools and Weimar as a place of learning. A central aim of these projects is to interconnect literary, art and music history. The partnership, established in 2016, serves to promote teacher training and especially teacher internships. The agreement with the Christian-Ernst-Gymnasium is based on its status as a “seminar school”, or teacher training academy.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar and the Christian-von-Bomhard Foundation (responsible for the Christian-von-Bomhard School in Uffenheim) have been working together since 2010 with the goal of firmly establishing Weimar as a place of extracurricular learning and enhancing the profile of both institutions. The collaboration was the first to develop an educational model of extracurricular learning which not only involved a single excursion but also intensively interlinked both places of learning at several grade levels.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar established this joint programme with the Collège Episcopal in Strasbourg and the Grimmelshausen Gymnasium in Offenburg in 2013. As part of the educational model project Weimarpedia/Youpedia, the two partner schools intensively collaborate on a week-long project in Weimar once a year and, in so doing, have improved intercultural dialogue at the same time. Both schools wish to continue developing their existing partnership and enhancing their individual profiles.
Gymnasium Syke has cooperated with the Klassik Stiftung Weimar since 2014. The central objective of the partnership is to interlink both places of learning at several grade levels. The programme establishes Weimar as the exclusive destination for excursions for grades 8, 11 and 12. The excursions for pupils in the secondary level I (grade 8 to 10) have an interdisciplinary character and are incorporated into the Weimarpedia project. The excursions at the secondary level II (grades 11 and 12) are offered as part of a “seminar subject”.
