Weimar everywhere: location-independent online courses

With our free online courses, you and your students can conveniently start learning about Weimar Classicism in the classroom. The digital courses offer a motivating introduction and engaging, playful learning units on this important era. The courses can be used flexibly as preparation for an excursion or as part of regular lessons. When you book, a closed course room is set up that allows you to create your own text productions and works on both PCs and tablets via a browser. You will receive written instructions on how to create access data for your students and use the Moodle platform.

We currently offer two online courses with different thematic focuses.

  1. Literature around 1800 – Perspectives through Goethe's Faust (recommended for upper secondary school)
  2. Faust? Faust! This course examines various perspectives on literature around 1800 through Goethe's Faust.

Short films on the theme of “Weimar Classicism”

These two short films are suitable as a thematic introduction to Weimar Classicism. You can use the videos either to incorporate into school lessons or to prepare for an excursion to Weimar.

Youpedia.de

The educational programme “Youpedia” is a project designed by young people for young people. Participants provide new information and creative products which can be located via a city map of Weimar. To view and learn more about its projects, visit youpedia.de.

bauhaus-machen.de

bauhaus-machen.de is a digital education platform operated by the Bauhaus institutions in Weimar, Dessau and Berlin. It offers teachers and art educators extensive working materials and instructions for exercises – and not only about the Bauhaus, but also overarching topics from the fields of art, architecture, design and society. Tailored to various age groups, local circumstances and educational goals, bauhaus-machen.de contains classroom-tested and inspirational video tutorials, project descriptions and worksheets. The downloadable materials are available to teachers and educators at no charge. The number of programmes and services offered by bauhaus-machen.de is steadily expanding.
