Bauhaus Fellowships

The Klassik Stiftung Weimar awards Bauhaus Fellowships to promote innovative projects in the areas of art, media, design, literature, curatorial practice and cultural education.

Named after the world-famous school of art and design in Weimar, our Bauhaus Fellowships support creative projects of outstanding merit. Each year several fellowships lasting two to four months are awarded to artists, students and graduates from around the world. One of the Bauhaus Fellowships will be awarded preferably to younger artists in memory of Ilse Burghardt.

Bauhaus fellows demonstrate thematic flexibility and pursue topics that raise public awareness. Although our fellows are given free rein in terms of diversity and creativity, we are interested in projects which are directly or indirectly related to Weimar and contemporary issues. Fellowship recipients should present their projects publicly, for example, in the form of an exhibition, work presentation, event or intervention, and reach a broad audience via the media channels operated by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar.

Next application deadline: 31 July 2026

Applications will only be accepted via the online application portal, which will be activated in May.
