"NetzWERKE: Denkmale & Infrastruktur"
On 13 September 2026, we will be celebrating Open Monument Day®. Under the motto “NetzWERKE: Denkmale und Infrastruktur”, we will be putting Weimar's monuments centre stage. We will show how networks, monuments and infrastructure are also closely intertwined in Weimar and support our identity – both individually and collectively.
Participation is limited. Free tickets are available in the ticket shop.
More information about Open Monument Day and the programme throughout Germany can be found on the official campaign website (German).

As a multimedia guide, the Weimar+ app offers unique audio tours of our facilities and monuments for young and old. Let the inspiring and atmospheric audio walks guide you through Weimar's city center, the garden monuments Park an der Ilm and Belvedere Palace Park, and discover the UNESCO World Heritage sites in a very special way.
An audio tour through the Duchess Anna Amalia Library provides exciting background information about the expressive exhibits in the new exhibition "Cranach's floods of images". With the augmented reality application "Aufgeschlagen!" historical books can be taken digitally from the shelves.
