Majestic palaces, blooming gardens, testimonies from the time of the principalities - Thuringia's palace landscape attracts countless guests every year. With the Thuringian Palace Days at Whitsun and the Children's Palace Days in September, the palaces and gardens of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are transformed into special event venues. Under the umbrella of the "Treasury of Thuringia," the palaces throughout Thuringia present their treasures.
"Tracked down! Princely Hunting Pleasure and Courtly Pleasure".
On the Whitsun weekend (May 26-29, 2023), we invite you to our stately buildings and courtly parks.
The motto of the Thuringian Palace Days 2023 is dedicated to courtly pastimes. In addition to the business of governing, the princes had to find some compensation from time to time. Hunting was one of the many pleasures to which they devoted themselves with pleasure. For this purpose, special hunting castles and hunting grounds were built, where hunting festivals were held in addition to the actual hunting. The Castle Days become a real festival with concerts, special exhibitions, thematic guided tours and entertaining events.
On the occasion of the International Children's Day on September 20, 2023, the Castle Children's Day will take place under the motto "Fairy dust and sparklers, flickering bows, cookies and jokes".
On a journey back in time to past centuries, children can experience some things that are not otherwise available in normal museum operations. Guided tours for children explore the palaces, and a costume workshop or handicrafts activities are designed to stimulate creativity.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar offers a special children's program on this day.
