KAHLA kreativ. Tasting Tomorrow

special exhibition

An exhibition by the Günther Raithel Stiftung –– KAHLA kreativ educational programme in cooperation with the Klassik Stiftung Weimar

Tasting Tomorrow, the 7th international KAHLA kreativ porcelain workshop, took place in the production halls of KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH in summer 2018, during which the participating artists and designers were invited to Weimar to visit the birthplace of the Bauhaus. Against the backdrop of the centennial celebration of the Bauhaus in 2019, the participants investigated the pioneering ways the Bauhaus advanced such topics as nutrition and its connection to community-based work and life.

With its varied perspectives on ceramics, furniture design, industrial design and art, the twelve participants from seven nations individually interpreted the motto “Tasting Tomorrow” in a collaborative and productive working atmosphere.

The exhibition presents a foretaste of the porcelain of the future in fascinating dialogue with the exquisite items from the historical Grand Ducal porcelain collection at Belvedere Castle.
