Autobahn A4 (Frankfurt am Main – Dresden): Exit 49 “Weimar” → 5 km to downtown
Autobahn A9 (Berlin – Munich): At Hermsdorfer Kreuz take ramp to autobahn A4 in the direction of Jena / Erfurt / Frankfurt am Main → ca. 40 km to exit 49 “Weimar”
Autobahn A71 (Schweinfurt – Sömmerda): At Erfurter Kreuz take ramp to autobahn A4 in the direction of Jena / Dresden → ca. 25 km to exit 49 “Weimar”
Highway B7 (Kassel-Erfurt-Gera): Follow signs to Weimar “Stadtzentrum” (city centre)
Highway B85 (Kyffhäuser-Bayreuth): Follow signs to Weimar “Stadtzentrum” (city centre)

There is regular train service to Weimar’s main railway station via the long-distance routes Frankfurt-Leipzig, Kassel-Berlin and Stralsund-Düsseldorf. There are also several regional trains which stop in Weimar (Erfurt-Jena, Eisenach-Halle and Göttingen-Zwickau). For more information, visit the website of the Deutsche Bahn.
The municipal public bus system extends across the city of Weimar. Public busses will bring you comfortably from the main railway station to downtown Weimar and to most of the local museums and historical sites of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar.
