The living room to join
The Living Lab is an experimental wooden pavilion and common living room located in front of the Weimar City Castle. Together with numerous local partners, it will become a vibrant venue for conversions, discussions, workshops, concerts, readings and games - all related to the theme of “Living”. Where do the boundaries lie between private and public life, what do we want to share, and how much in-person encounter can we bear?

The Living Lab is a participative venue. Since 1 April 2023, you can join a programme of regular events, including our long-standing Open Stage series, the Radio Playground and the Language Café, as well as many new event formats.
What kind of events or functions would you like to see at the Living Lab? Would you like to stage an event there yourself? Every month, we select one of your ideas and help you implement it!

The Mobile Living Lab temporarily transforms public places into a living room! We use the infrastructure of cargo bikes to create a place where people can meet and relax. We welcome you to participate in free activities where you can strike up conversation with others and share your living and lifestyle ideas.
The Mobile Living Lab will begin staging activities at public locations in Weimar, Apolda and the surrounding region on a random basis starting on 1 April 2023. The highlight will be a several-day bicycle tour down the Ilm River bike path. Along the way, we will gain insights and inspiration on different forms of living.
We would be happy to visit your event and bring our mobile participation stations along. Simply send your request to: co-labor@klassik-stiftung.de.

The Living Lab and the Mobile Living Lab are part of the project "Ent|Schlossen".
