Registration

Anyone over the age of 14 can become a registered library user.

At registration, we issue the reader a user ID (THOSKA chip card) for a one-time processing fee of 10 euros. It is also possible to register with an existing THOSKA card issued by any of the other participating academic institutions in Thuringia, e.g. the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the College of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar or the University of Jena.

Conditions:

  • Minimum age of 14 years. Adolescents between the ages of 14 and 17 require the written consent of a legal guardian.
  • Valid personal ID card or passport. Users from non-EU countries are also required to present their residence permit, valid for at least another three months.

Registration made easier: Until further notice also via online application

You would like to use our digital services but do not yet have a library account? We now offer a procedure for provisional registration:

We would be delighted if you convert your provisional registration into a permanent one. You can either purchase a library card at the circulation desk or have your existing THOSKA registered with us free of charge.

The provisional registration expires automatically after 12 months.
