The name so:fie stands for: "Collections online: research, inform, discover". The database currently contains detailed information on around 35,000 individuals, 1,000 corporate bodies and 2,500 geographical objects spanning more than three centuries - and for the first time links the databases of the Goethe and Schiller Archives and the museums with a common user interface.
