New art made from the wood of climate-damaged trees
Erich Friedrich Becker is concerned with the issue of climate change in historical gardens. He uses wood from climate-damaged, felled old trees to create new works of art.
For the sculptures shown in the presentation, the artist used the remaining wood from a felled ash tree from a group of three at the Red Tower in Belvedere. The theme of climate change always remains visible in his works by continuing to show the damaged wood. In this way, traces of climate change remain on the sculptures and art and climate change enter into an exciting dialogue.
