Rosmarie Weinlich: Habitat

special exhibition

With her installation “Habitat”, the artist Rosmarie Weinlich transforms the kitchen of the Goethe Gartenhaus into a natural philosophical laboratory where she investigates the relationship of humans and nature today.

The Goethe Gartenhaus represents the romantic ideal of living in harmony with nature. Yet the scope of Goethe’s work extends far beyond literature; his natural scientific research and his famous conceptualisation of the “primal plant” are also an integral part of his legacy. The artist and alumna of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Rosmarie Weinlich, has created an installation entitled “Habitat” for the kitchen of the Goethe Gartenhaus which considers aspects of the relationship between humans and nature today.
