Walle! Walle*

Contemporary Art in Goethe's Residence

special exhibition

Danica Dakić’s new work features Goethe’s former residence and his collections as the starting point for an investigation of global threats impacting society, the destruction of nature, political crises and increasing nationalistic tendencies.

The project, which combines art and discourse, examines Goethe’s own quest for knowledge and sheds light on global threats which are impacting our lives today, such as the dramatic destruction of nature, social and political crises, and increasing nationalist tendencies. Based on the Goethe Residence and the collections in Weimar, the Sarajevo-born artist Danica Dakić presents a trilogy consisting of two cinematic works and a graphic portfolio entitled "Walle! Walle" (2023), which highlights the themes of legacy/inheritance and destruction.

In cooperation with the Casa di Goethe, Rome. Presentation there: 08.06.2023 -10.9.2023 (Opening on 07.06.2023)
