On this page you will find all frequently asked questions about the Klassik Stiftung Weimar, the Online-Ticketshop, group registrations and the Combo ticket - Modernism 2020.
Because of the high demand for tickets to the historic library, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance via our online ticket shop. This ensures hassle-free admission and is the surest way to plan your visit. If there are no more tickets available on your desired date, you may be able to secure tickets at the museum ticket counter in person within three days of your visit. These are intended for those who were unable to plan and order tickets ahead, and only a limited number of tickets are available for this purpose each day. It is not possible to reserve these day tickets in advance by phone or email.
For group reservations of 10 persons or more, please contact our Visitor Service team.
Not all available tickets are offered via the online ticket shop. We always reserve a certain number for on-site purchases. If you show up in person at our museum ticket counters within three days of your desired visit, you have the chance of securing tickets even if all the online tickets for that day are sold out.
We recommend purchasing tickets online in advance for our heavily frequented museums:
Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek, Goethe National Museum with the Goethe Residence, Bauhaus Museum, Museum Neues Weimar, Schiller Museum with the Schiller Residence, Goethe Gartenhaus and Haus Am Horn.
Tickets are sold on location at the following sites:
Nietzsche-Archiv, Haus Hohe Pappeln, Ducal Vault, Park Cave, Kochberg Castle and the Wittumspalais. In fact, tickets to these sites are not even sold via the online ticket shop. Admission is possible without prior reservation.
We offer free admission to the Liszt House, the Roman House, Tiefurt Mansion and the Wieland Estate in Ossmannstedt.
When you purchase a ticket via our online ticket shop, you are required to select your desired admission time. The admission time is limited to 15 minutes and has no effect on the duration of your visit. For a more stress-free experience, we ask you to arrive on time, i.e. several minutes before your designated timeslot. Timeslot admission is important as it helps us prevent visitor numbers from exceeding the capacity of our museums. Controlled and restricted admission to our listed historic buildings is necessary to preserve them for future generations.

Make sure that your email provider’s firewall (antivirus program) is not blocking attachments or that the email didn’t land in your spam folder. After completing the ordering process, registered customers can view their purchased tickets anytime under “My Profile”.
