Your central meeting point during the Theme Year 2022 on “Language” at the Weimar City Castle.
The conversation lab is a place where you can participate in activities on your own, meet others and gain new perspectives. Diverse groups from Weimar and the surrounding region are making the Language Lab a social meeting place featuring a broad range of programmes.
2022 is dedicated to language in all its facets. How can I print language, generate mini language explosions or simply depict silence? How do I engage in conversation with others – cooking together, playing foosball, or producing new furniture? What do people think, sing or scream when standing on stage?
The conversation lab is an event venue that primarily aims to redefine a place where performances are hardly ever staged. In addition to traditional open-stage events, concerts and education programmes, participants will have the chance to creatively and playfully design the location in the sense of a “construction site”. Starting on 6 May, you can experience a changing programme, borrow games and even develop them yourself. Would you like to use this venue with your organisation, recreation club or music group? Simply send us your query to co-labor@klassik-stiftung.de or speak with us in person at the conversation lab.
Conversation lab opening times (6 May – 31 October 2022):
No matter what language(s) you speak, we guarantee you’ll find a lot to talk about with your fellow participants in our mobile conversation lab installations. The language-themed programmes are free of charge and can be found touring through Weimar every Wednesday and Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm, in Apolda on Thursdays, and in the Weimar region at the weekends.
You can find out when the mobile conversation lab will be visiting your part of town either on Facebook or at . If you’re interested in more information, please feel free to email us.
The language laboratory and the language laboratory on the road are part of the project "Ent|Schlossen: Shaping social culture".
