One of the core tasks of the Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv involves indexing and cataloguing the historical holdings and collections.
Editions
The Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv has established itself as one of Germany’s leading competence centres in the field of philological editions. The current research activities in the PROPYLÄEN project continue in the tradition of the Weimar edition of Goethe’s works, produced between 1885 and 1919, which served to cement the international reputation of the archive.
