About fires, books and the language of war on 2 March, 8.15 pm on Twitter
The acute threat to world peace, the rekindling of the suppressed language of the Cold War between East and West, our powerlessness as a cultural institution - these things shake us all, but also encourage us to experiment.
In the Klassik Stiftung Weimar's new Twitter Space, we will have conversations with the Foundation's directors and experts: What can history, the culture of Weimar Classicism, the German poets and thinkers give us for our struggles, our fears, our reflections today? The war came to Weimar in 1806, there were deaths, looting, armed soldiers in private homes, sheer existential fear - and we keep silent about it in our museums! But not for long.

when Ulrike Lorenz, President of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar, talks with Reinhard Laube, Director of the Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek, about fires and books, and spontaneous thoughts about the war in Ukraine arise from the perspective of the time of upheaval around 1800.
We would like to discuss this with you.
