A Day for Duchess Anna Amalia | Reopening of the Wittumspalais

Celebrate with us the reopening of the newly restored Wittumspalais, featuring a vibrant family program, an exhibition opening and guided tours.

On April 30, 2026, the Klassik Stiftung Weimar invites you to a special opening event dedicated to Duchess Anna Amalia. With the reopening of the Wittumspalais at Theaterplatz and the exhibition Make it public! The ABCs of the Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek at the Studienzentrum, two places become visible where the Duchess shaped the cultural and intellectual life of Weimar.

While the Wittumspalais offers insights into Anna Amalia’s extraordinary life and her court as a cultural meeting place, the exhibition at the Study Centre of the Duchess Anna Amalia Library shows how the ducal collection developed into an institution that fosters public access, knowledge, and exchange.
