Goethe and the secret life of plants
Is it possible to observe the origin of life? Johann Wolfgang von Goethe sought an answer to this question in his studies of algae, lichen, fungi, moss and ferns, all of which procreate in secret. An exhibition at the Goethe National Museum presents the scientific instruments and items with which Goethe investigated the life of plants.
