Projects of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free State of Thuringia, represented by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, Department of Culture and the Arts.

As part of a cooperation with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the vacated Haus Hohe Pappeln will open once again for the final presentation of the semester at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar before it closes for construction work until 2027.
Under the overarching theme of the Growing House, the Chair of Building Design at the Bauhaus University Weimar speculates on how the house and garden of Henry van de Velde's High Poplars could be further developed and qualified - as a continuation of his own vision with a factory for living, living and working.
The students' projects reflect van de Velde's attitude from today's perspective in order to create a cosmos that understands architecture as part of an integral and inclusive holistic approach and redensification as a social responsibility for building.
The works make Haus Hohe Pappeln visible, design within the existing building, map its surroundings or optimise thermal bridges with the design of textile insulation. As a case study, the main building will be supplemented with new infrastructure as part of a Design + Build project in cooperation with the Klassik-Stiftung: an existing shed will be extended as a Growing House, while miniature architecture on an even smaller scale as Garden Follies will provide new impetus for collective and eco-integrative habitats to grow between meadows and trees.
The exhibition is open on Friday, 11 July between 5 and 8 pm and on 12 and 13 July between 12 and 6 pm.
Opening on Friday, 11 July at 5 pm.
